Lentil Bolognaise Sauce

Ingredients

  • 450gm packet of Quickpulse Brown Lentils
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Masterfoods chilli paste
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • 3 cups of Provisto Sugo tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-tablespoon fresh chopped herbs
  • salt and pepper to taste (optional)
  • Serves 4

Directions

  1. Dry fry onion, garlic and chilli.
  2. Add lentils, bouquet garni, tomato sauce and water.
  3. Bring to the boil and simmer for at least 10 minutes. Season and stir in the fresh herbs.
  4. Serve as a pasta sauce or use as a substitute for meat sauce in lasagne.
  5. This is also good served with vegetables.
